Epic Games announced its storefront will have a holiday sale, as usual. But it also confirmed another special event will coincide with it again. Starting on December 17, 2020, there will be 15 days of Epic Games Store free games. None of them have been revealed yet, and the storefront itself only says “Mystery Game” with a wrapped icon. Each game will be free for 24 hours.

This will end up being more free games than last year. Alongside the 2019 Epic Games Store holiday sale, 12 titles were given away. Some of the titles that year were Into the Breach, Towerfall Ascension, Celeste, Ape Out, Totally Accurate Battle Simulator, Hyper Light Drifter, Faster than Light: Advanced Edition, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair, and The Wolf Among Us.

In the meantime, there are two Epic Games Store free games immediately available until December 17, 2020. Both are Obsidian Entertainment RPGs. One is Pillars of Eternity: Definitive Edition, which normally costs $39.99. The other is the typically $49.99 Tyranny. The former first came out on PCs in 2014, while the latter debuted two years later in 2016.

The Epic Games Store 15 Days of Free Games event will begin on December 17, 2020 and last until January 1, 2021. In the past, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney said that giving away free titles via the storefront helped boost sales for the games.
