Top-seller:Tales of the Abyss – 74,173
Nintendo 3DS sales: 30,233 | Total sales: 1,188,335
Tales of the Abyss saw its release in Japan last week. The Nintendo 3DS port of Namco’s PlayStation 2 RPG sold 74,173 units in its first week on shelves, giving 3DS system sales another slight boost. Producer Makoto Yoshizumi has stated that Namco Bandai expect to sell 250,000 copies of Abyss in Japan.
Following behind it was Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition on the PlayStation 3, at nearly 55,000 units. For reference, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition debuted at 44,649 units on the Nintendo 3DS earlier this year. For more on Street Fighter IV sales comparisons, take a look at this post.
Finally, Eurocom and Activision’s GoldenEye 007 made its debut in Japan, published by Nintendo, and came in at over 36,000 units. The top-20 list for the week can be perused below:
