Last week saw a large number of new games released in Japan, with Mario Party: Island Tour leading the pack. The game sold 132,668 copies in its first week.

At #2 was the PlayStation 3 version of Samurai Warriors 4, with 120,452 copies sold. Hot on its heels was the PS3 version of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, with 119,615 copies sold.

Also released last week was J-Stars Victory Vs., a game that Namco Bandai have been playing up for many months. J-Stars brings a number of popular manga characters from Shounen Jump magazine together in an arena fighting game, and performed reasonably well in its first week. The game sold 118,240 copies on PS3 and 97,821 copies on PS Vita.

Meanwhile, PlayStation 4 also saw a game released for it last week—the PS4 version of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. This version of the game sold 91,903 copies.

Several other releases made it out last week as well, and can be found in the chart below. Since there’s so much information to digest here, we’re going to hold off on any analysis until we’ve laid our eyes on sales tracker Media Create’s supplementary report, where they will likely share sell-through figures for some of these games.
