Videogame sales in Japan—both hardware and software—dropped across the board last week, owing to a lack of new high-profile releases. The #1 selling game for the week was Yo-kai Watch, with 34,690 copies sold.

Level 5 recently announced that 1 million copies of Yo-kai Watch have been shipped thus far. We suspect they’ll sell through that shipment at retail over the next few months if the game continues to sell the way it does.

Meanwhile, Square Enix released the PlayStation 4 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, which sold 31,326 copies in its first week. Following close behind it was Ace Attorney 123: Wright Selection at 26,925 copies sold.

Finally, a slightly updated version of Style Savvy: Trendsetters was made available last week as well. This new version of the game contains a few new features that were released as free DLC for existing owners of the game.

Next week’s sales chart should be more interesting. April 24th marks the release of Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment in Japan. Following that, April 29th marks the start of Golden Week, which usually gives popular games a much-needed kick.
