The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D launched in Japan last week, and sold 230,065 copies in its first week. That’s a better debut than both the preceding Zelda games on Nintendo 3DS. Here’s a look at how those launched:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D – 164,110
  • The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds – 224,143

It should be interesting to see how Majora’s Mask 3D sells over the next year. By the end of 2014, Ocarina of Time 3D was well over 575,000 units sold (probably close to 600,000), so there’s certainly potential for Majora to sell much more in the months ahead.
