Last week, Japan had just one major release and it was Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End for PlayStation 4 which finished on top with 128,724 units sold in its debut week. Media Create gives us a look at video games sales data for software and hardware from the week of May 9 through May 15, 2016.

Here’s how Uncharted 4 compares to first-week sales of the previous three titles from the series:

  • (2007) Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune16,702
  • (2009) Uncharted 2: Among Thieves – 53,827
  • (2011) Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception – 124,989
  • (2016) Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – 128,724

That puts the fourth installment as the highest-debuting Uncharted game in Japan, albeit just by about 4k over Drake’s Deception. Not bad at all.

Following, we have Kirby: Planet Robobot at #2 with 24,298 copies sold in its second week, and Yo-kai Watch: Sangokushi at #3 with 10,969 units. At #4, #5, and #6 are the trio of Jikkyou Powerful Pro Yakyu 2016, which sold 9,510 for PS Vita, 8,473 for PS4, and 5,928 for PS3, combining for 23,911 units across all three platforms.

Dragon Quest Monsters Joker took the #7 spot with 5,767 copies sold. And the usual three in #8, #9, and #10 with Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition which sold 5,693 copies, Splatoon with 5,237 copies, and Super Mario Maker with 4,030 units sold last week.

Overall, software sales took a bit of a dive this past week across the top-20. To put things into perspective, the sales figure for #10 would’ve put it at #18 the week prior, which didn’t have any new releases, so it seems like there was a bit of a Golden Week hangover going on last week. As far as hardware sales go, there was decline in total sales for the week, except for the Xbox One, which saw an increase by 55 units.
