Last week, Japan saw the quiet before the storm that is Persona 5 with only two new releases with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Game of the Year Edition, and Bara ni Kakusareshi Verite from Idea Factory. Here’s the latest from sales tracker Media Create’s weekly data on software and hardware that sold in the week of August 29 through September 4, 2016.

#1 on the list is Yo-kai Watch 3: Sushi & Tempura versions, selling 28,821 copies last week. While it may not be up there with previous Yo-kai Watch titles in terms of sales, it’s still a Yo-kai Watch title, and it’ll probably keep the #1 spot until Persona 5 releases.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s Game of the Year Edition managed to snag the #2 spot with 11,948 copies sold. Wild Hunt originally released in Japan in May of 2015, when it sold through 67,385 copies in its first week, published by Spike Chunsoft.

Idea Factory’s otome games brand, Otomate, seems to be busting out with a new visual novel title just about every week lately. Bara ni Kakusareshi Verite is the latest one, and sold 3,221 copies in its first week on PS Vita. If you’re curious, you can read more about the game here.

As far as hardware sales go, things remained mostly the same, except we did see a little increase in PS Vita sales by 1,158 units compared to next week. The PS4, however, saw yet another drop in sales going from 5,812 units last week to 1,828 this week with a drop by 3,988 units. As mentioned last week, this is likely due to a shortage in stock, and we’ll likely see it get a nice boost when the shelves get stocked with the new and slimmer PS4 models.
