Last week, Japan had a bit of a slow week following the big Tekken 7 week, with Idea Factory’s latest otome visual novel Shiro to Kuro no Alice by Otomate being the only new release. Japanese sales tracker Media Create shares a look at software and hardware sales data from the week of June 5 through June 11, 2017.

After falling to second place two weeks ago with the release of Ys VIII on PS4 then third place a week ago with the release of Tekken 7 and Seiken Densetsu Collection, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe finds its way back on track with a #1 placement with 16,596 units sold on Switch during a week without any major releases.

Tekken 7 hit #2 with 12,460 units sold on PS4, followed by Monster Hunter XX at #3 with 10,209 units sold for 3DS, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at #4 with 8,839 units sold for Switch, and Seiken Densetsu Collection at #5 with 5,329 copies sold on Switch.

The lone new title to make the top-20 is Shiro to Kuro no Alice, an otome game by Koei Tecmo’s Otomate brand, which sold 4,385 units on its PlayStation Vita debut.

On the hardware side of things, there was a drop across all platforms other than a slight increase for the Xbox One and close to a 4,000 increase for the Nintendo Switch, which sold 27,291 units in the week. Going by Media Create’s numbers, the Nintendo Switch has sold 952,949 units to date since its launch in March. It shouldn’t be long until the console hits the 1 million milestone in Japan!
