Last week, Japan had several new releases with a big one in Everybody’s Golf on PS4, two sequels in Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 in 3DS and Nights of Azure 2, Resident Evil: Revelations Unveiled Edition on PS4, and Jake Hunter: Ghost of the Dusk on 3DS. Japanese sales tracker Media Create shared the latest on software and hardware sales data from the week of August 28 through September 3, 2017.

#1 of the week goes to Everybody’s Golf on PS4 with 100,719 units sold in its debut. The previous entry in the series, Hot Shots Golf: World Invitations sold 61,412 units on its PS Vita debut in December 2011 and 100,862 units for its PS3 debut back in November 2012, meaning the game picked up right where it left off.

Splatoon 2 continues to impress with its high volume of sales with 52,320 units sold to chart at #2 again, reminding us how well its predecessor sold on Wii U. At #3 we have Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 with 29,887 units sold to debut on 3DS, less than half of its predecessor’s debut of 65,226 on 3DS back in March 2015.

Monster Hunter XX Nintendo Switch Ver. was king last week but it sits at #4 with 27,120 units sold. Dragon Quest XI surpassed the 3 million milestone in retail by charting at #5 on 3DS with 22,846 units and #7 on PS4 with 14,053 units for a total of 3,022,368 units between the two versions since its launch.

Nights of Azure 2 released on three consoles with the best going to the PS4 version with 18,207 units at #6, followed by the PS Vita version at #11 with 7,168 units, and the Nintendo Switch version at #16 with 4,463 units sold in its debut for a total of 29,838 units. This is basically in the flop territory considering the first game Nights of Azure debuted with 35,907 units sold on PS4 and 32,904 units sold on PS Vita, totaling at 68,811 units in its debut between both versions. Gust felt that they could’ve done better with Nights of Azure 2 by offering an abundance of improvements on parts fans voiced their complaints about from the first game, but so far its sales aren’t living up to its predecessor’s.

As far as other new titles go, Resident Evil: Revelations Unveiled Edition released on PS4 and sold 9,260 units in its first week to chart at #10. The hard-boiled detective series’ Jake Hunter: Ghost of the Dusk debuted at #12 with 6,132 units sold on 3DS.

We didn’t see any notable differences in the hardware front, with steady sales from last week. The Nintendo Switch sold 50,074 units, which now puts it at 1,577,035 units sold in Japan since its launch in March.
