Last week, Japan got several new titles including a remake and a port with Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minion on 3DS and Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen on PS4. Other new titles include Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 and Tokyo Clanpool to make it into the top-20. Japanese sales tracker Media Create shared the latest on software and hardware sales data from the week of October 2 through October 8, 2017.

#1 of the week goes to Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions with 25,788 units sold in its debut on the Nintendo 3DS. The previous game from the Mario & Luigi series was Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam which debuted with 49,226 units sold on 3DS back in December 2015.

Splatoon 2 is back in its rightful place of #2 with 22,338 units sold. It currently sits at 1,212,901 units sold on Switch via retail in Japan. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been creeping up the charts a little at a time and it charted at #3 with 13,392 units sold in the week.

FIFA 18 is enjoying a good second leg with 13,169 units sold on PS4 to place #4. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III also continues with solid numbers with 12,581 units on PS4 to place #5.

Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen on PS4 debuted at #7 with 11,666 units sold. Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 surprised with a decent debut of 10,825 units sold on PS4 to chart at #8. Lastly, Tokyo Clanpool sold 5,197 units on PlayStation Vita to chart #12.

As far as hardware sales go most consoles saw drops other than the 2DS LL. The Nintendo Switch sales dropped to 38,204 units sold compared to the week prior’s 73,231 so it looks like it is hitting another shortage. On that note, the Nintendo Switch has sold 1,821,387 units sold in Japan since its March launch if we go by Media Create’s numbers.
