Last week, Japan Nintendo and Sony had themselves key releases with the Nintendo Labo making its debut alongside God of War. Metal Max Xeno, Portal Knights, and Neo Atlas 1469 also had debuts for the week.

 

The #1 spot of the week goes to the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 01: Variety Kit with 90,410 units sold to take the top spot. The second kit, Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 02: Robot Kit charted at #3 with 28,629 units sold, which gives Nintendo Labo an opening week debut of 119,039 between both kits.

 

Sony Interactive Entertainment’s God of War sold 46,091 units on PlayStation 4 in its Japanese debut to chart at #2. Next, Kirby: Star Allies was #4 with 17,381 units sold on the Nintendo Switch, followed by Splatoon 2 with 16,617 units sold. Last week’s top title The Snack World: Trejarers Gold charted at #6 with 15,847 units sold.

 

Metal Max Xeno debuted at #7 with 15,044 units sold on PS4 and at #9 with 8,355 units sold on PS Vita for a total of 23,399 units between the two. Other new releases included the Nintendo Switch version of Portal Knights at #16 with 3,226 units sold, and the Switch version of Neo Atlas 1469 at #17 with 3,177 units sold.

 

In hardware sales, the PlayStation 4 sold 4,480 units and the PS4 Pro sold 8,967 units for a total of 13,447 units sold for the PS4 family. The Nintendo Switch was the top-selling console with 34,165 units sold, making up 58.8% of all hardware sales in the week. Going by Media Create’s numbers, the Nintendo Switch is currently at 4,071,828 units sold in Japan since its launch in March 3, 2017.
