Last week, things were more calm in video game releases, as the top-20 chart only saw one new game with Spike Chunsoft’s survival RPG Zanki Zero: Last Beginning on PS4 and PS Vita. Japanese sales tracker Media Create released the latest video game software and hardware sales data from the week of July 2 through July 8, 2018.

The top-seller of the week was Mario Tennis Aces with 32,697 units sold on Nintendo Switch to chart at #1 for the third week in a row. Minecraft’s retail version on Switch was at #2 again with 19,148 units sold on Switch, followed by Splatoon 2 at #3 with 16,362 units sold in the week.

At #4 we have Zanki Zero: Last Beginning with 15,541 units sold on PlayStation 4. It also charted #7 with 9,111 units sold on PS Vita for a total of 24,652 units sold between the two. Next, we have Mario Kart 8 Deluxe at #5 with 12,090 units sold for Switch, The Crew 2 at #6 with 9,740 units sold on PS4, Kirby Star Allies at #8 with 6,833 units sold on Switch, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild at #9 with 6,322 copies sold, and Super Mario Odyssey at #10 with 5,333 units sold.

Hardware sales didn’t change much with the PlayStation 4 selling 12,608 units and an additional 5,226 units from the PS4 Pro to combine for a total of 17,834. The Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console with 44,237 units to make up for 60.7% of all hardware sold in the week. Going by Media Create’s figures, the Nintendo Switch is currently at 4,550,472 units sold in Japan since its launch in March 3, 2017.
