Last week in Japan, we saw the release of several new titles with the biggest one being the Atelier spinoff Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists for PS4, PS Vita, and Switch among others.

 

The #1 title of the week is Kingdom Hearts III again with 91,019 units sold on PS4 in its second week to put it at a total of 701,096 units sold. Resident Evil 2 followed at #2 with 51,339 units sold on PS4. Next, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe charted at #3 again with 45,879 units sold on Switch.

 

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate also remained at #4 with 35,217 units sold on Switch to put its total retail sales in Japan at 2,799,969. At #5 we have Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! & Let’s Go, Eevee! with 21,274 units sold on Switch.

 

The first new title of the week is Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists which charted at #6 with 18,679 units sold for PS4,, #11 with 8,046 units sold for Switch , and #16 on with 4,589 units sold for PS Vita to combine for 31,314 units total.

 

While it isn’t a main Atelier game, here’s how it stacks against the previous entries:

As for other new titles, Dragon Marked For Death’s retail version debuted at #17 with 4,492 units sold, Fate/Extella Link’s Switch version charted at #18 with 4,134 units sold, and Robotics;Notes DaSH opened with 3,943 units sold on PS4 to chart at #19.

In hardware sales, things are back to normal after an explosive PlayStation week last week with the releases of Kingdom Hearts III and Resident Evil 2. This past week, the PlayStation 4 sold 15,074 units plus an additional 10,540 PS4 Pros to combine for 25,614 units between the two. The Nintendo Switch was the best-selling console of the week with 69,472 units sold to make up 68.4% of all hardware sales. Going by Media Create’s figures, the Nintendo Switch is currently at 7,317,862 units sold in Japan since its launch in March 3, 2017.
