7.05 FFXIV Job Changes Target Viper, Samurai, Black Mage

The 7.05 patch notes for FFXIV are live, with many of the new job changes affecting the Viper, Samurai, Black Mage, Thaumaturge, and Paladin. In total, 16 jobs ended having actions and traits changed, with many of those adjusting and increasing abilities’ potency.

The longest list of patch 7.05 FFXIV job changes belongs to the Viper. Over 35 actions and traits were adjusted in the latest update. Here’s the full list from the patch notes:

The Samurai in FFXIV also experienced a number of potency-related changes in the latest patch. 

Here are all of the Paladin job changes in FFXIV 7.05, which are also rather extensive.

Many of the Black Mage and Thaumaturge FFXIV changes are shared among their common actions and traits.

Here’s what is new for the Dark Knight in FFXIV.

There are multiple potency changes for the FFXIV Ninja job too.

Like the Ninja, there are five job changes for the Red Mage in FFXIV patch 7.05.

Three Dragoon changes appeared in the latest FFXIV patch.

There are three more job changes to the Monk in FFXIV, following more major changes in the prior patch.

Three Summoner changes came up in FFXIV as well.

While many of the jobs above featured extensive changes in the 7.05 FFXIV patch notes, other action and trait adjustments were more minimal. For example, the Gunbreaker’s Trajectory action and character movement happens faster. Machinist’s Full Metal Field potency is higher. The Dancer’s Fan Dance IV is higher after you learn Dynamic Dancer. With the Reaper, only the Perfectio and Soul Slice actions’ potency changed. White Mage’s Dia has a higher general potency and damage over time potency. There’s also no longer any shared recast time for the Astrologian’s Play I, Play II, and Play III.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Viper job class is available in the Dawntrail expansion.
