The latest game doesn’t break that trend, offering up 15 SEGA Master System games and 7 arcade games to find and play. Where to Find all the SEGA Master System Games in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

SEGA’s 8-bit console might not get the love it deserves most of the time, but it has found a stable home in Ryu ga Gotoku Studio’s recent titles. Three of the hideouts in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii come equipped with a SEGA Master System for you to play at your leisure. It’s even better than the old days because you can save your progress and rewind gameplay. Since the hideout on Rich Island has a console, you can start playing almost from the start of the game. You’ll have to fill out your collection of cartridges, though.

Majima starts the game with the following SEGA Master System games in his possession:

  • Poseidon Wars 3-D
  • Alex Kidd in Miracle World
  • Alien Syndrome
  • Penguin Land
  • Fantasy Zone

Not a bad mix of games to start with, but we can do better. You’ll get your first chance to expand the collection when you land at Honolulu in Chapter 2 of the game. While part of the map is still closed off to you, the area you can explore has two Treasure Select Pawn locations to scope out. Between these two places, you’ll be able to get an additional five games. Each one costs $300, so make sure you’ve got money to spend. Retro game collecting is expensive!

Head to the intersection of Hula Ave and Resort Blvd, then go east down Hula. Treasure Select Pawn will be on your left. Head inside and talk to the clerk to find an assortment of treasures to buy. Among them are the following three SEGA Master System games:

  • Fantasy Zone II: The Tears of Opa-Opa
  • Galaxy Force
  • Enduro Racer

Next you’ll want to visit the River St Treasure Select Pawn location. Head north up Kaku Ave, then take a left onto River St and head down a little. The shop will be on your left-hand side again. Pop on in and take a look at their wares, which include the following two juicy SEGA Master System titles:

  • Space Harrier 3-D
  • Flicky

You’re going to have to play a little bit more into Chapter 2 before you can finish up your retro game shopping. Keep playing until you’re given the quest “Go to Diamond Head”. At that point, the Aloha Bridge will finally be opened and you’ll be able to access the rest of Honolulu. There are once again two Treasure Select Pawn spots to hit up. The first is on the second floor of the Anaconda Shopping Center. Just head up the escalators on the east side of the mall and you should see it. Again, you’ll need to pay $300 for each cartridge. Head into the shop and talk to the clerk to find three more SEGA Master System games:

  • Maze Hunter 3-D
  • Quartet
  • Star Jacker

We’re almost finished! The last Treasure Select Pawn location can be found on Kolonahe St in Chinatown. It’s just to the east of the Nirvana Hotel. You’ll recognize the sign by now, so slide on in there and grab those last two SEGA Master System games. Since you’re the Captain, you don’t need to justify why you spent $3000 of the budget on a bunch of dusty old game cartridges. Those final two games are as follows:

  • Secret Command
  • Global Defense

Where to Find all the Arcade Games in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

Okay, you’ve had your fill of home console goodness, but now you want some slightly fancier graphics. Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii leans hard into SEGA’s Model 3 arcade hardware, with a total of seven games to drop your virtual coins into. The bad news is that the arcade scene on Rich Island isn’t exactly thriving. That means you’ll have to wait until you reach Honolulu in Chapter 2 to play these games.

Indeed, you’ll have to play until you get the quest “Go to Diamond Head”, which opens up the Aloha Bridge and gives you access to the west side of the map. Head to the Anaconda Shopping Center, then go to the east side of the first floor. Behind the escalators, you’ll find the Anaconda Arcade with the following games to play:

  • Virtua Fighter 3
  • Virtua Fighter 3tb
  • SEGA Racing Classic 2: Power Edition
  • SEGA Racing Classic 2: Battle on the Edge
  • SpikeOut Final Edition
  • Fighting Vipers 2
  • The Ocean Hunter

Aside from Anaconda Shopping Center, you’ll only find one other location with any arcade games to play. It’s just one game, too: Virtua Fighter 3tb. It’s in the eastern arcade in Madlantis, and you won’t be able to access it on your first visit. Well, it’s handy if you’re jonesing for some Virtua Fighter and don’t want to head over to Honolulu. Of course, there are many other mini-games to enjoy in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, but it’s nice to dig into the classics now and then, isn’t it?

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is now available on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox One/Series, and PC via Steam.
