There are so many different modes and games available within Fortnite. Some of these are from creators within the community while others are officially from Epic Games itself. When it comes to the best Fortnite modes made by Epic Games, there are four that rise above the rest and should be the ones to check out right now.
Best Fortnite Modes: Zero Build
If you’re into the normal build mode of battle royale, that is certainly great for you. But I have never been a huge fan of building in this particular third-person shooter. That is why Zero Build is such an incredible and overly used mode for me. It puts the spotlight on the weapons, abilities, and unique features added in each season, which I appreciate. If you don’t like building, this is the mode to check out.
Lego Fortnite
Lego Fortnite is worthy of being its own entirely separate experience from the rest of this title. It is a complete open-world survival adventure with endless hours of fun, all with the adorable Lego aesthetic. You can build a town, survive the night against skeletons, explore the world, and even do a mini-Star Wars storyline. It is always expanding with something new for players to check out.
Ballistic
Ballistic is what happens when Fortnite goes first-person and tries its hand at Counter Strike 2 or Valorant-style Search & Destroy gameplay. The movement is a bit slower than I, personally, like but the emphasis on skill makes it one of the most challenging modes available. There is even a Ranked version for those who want to feel like they are going pro at this deep FPS mode.
Fortnite Festival
Fortnite Festival has a special place in my heart. It is like Rock Band — coming from the developers of it — but built so well into the existing Fortnite ecosystem. You can play various instruments in this musical rhythm experience solo or with friends, and it is all free-to-play, too. Plus, it has an ever-growing library of songs, including recent favorites from the likes of Sabrina Carpenter, Billie Eilish, Yoasobi, and so much more.
Fortnite is available for free for Android, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
