Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening

The latest in a venerable franchise, Nobunaga’s Ambition: Awakening lets you step into the shoes of Japanese feudal warlord Oda Nobunaga and attempt to achieve his dream of a united Japan through shrewd diplomacy, military might, and judicious management of your underlings. You aren’t restricted to the Oda clan though, as many of the other contenders are also available with their own policies and strategic strengths. 2022’s Awakening is available for $44.99 down from $59.99, though 2015’s Sphere of Influence is also available at the cheaper price of $29.99.

Age of Darkness: Final Stand

Recently graduated from Early Access, Age of Darkness: Final Stand is a horde-defense RTS similar to They Are Billions, but with a dark fantasy setting and Warcraft III style hero units. Expand your settlement to support more defenses but be careful not to over-extend, because when the Death Night comes an army of horrors will be close behind. Available for $9.79 down from $27.99, the full release includes a lengthy campaign and 2 player co-op.

Stellaris

While more of a 4X strategy game, Stellaris still technically runs on a Real-Time system and so has appeared with yet another hefty discount. Carve out your own interstellar empire with a space-faring society of your own design. Will you lead a crusading nation of pro-democracy zealots, an enlightened technocracy, or a ravenous insectoid swarm? While the discounted price only amounts to $9.99, with regular (often game-changing) updates and a vast array of DLC the real price of Stellaris will likely be all of your free time.

Total War: Three Kingdoms

If you’ve been enjoying Dynasty Warriors: Origins and want to immerse yourself further in the Three Kingdoms period, look no further than Total War: Three Kingdoms. Treading halfway between the series’ historical entries and the more recent fantasy ones, the game offers a mostly grounded strategy experience with a really interesting unit system based on Chinese Wuxing concepts. Master the formation-based battle system and send your champions out to duel as you attempt to usurp or restore the emperor, or simply try to woo all your favorite officers to your side to create the ultimate court of advisors. Who could possibly stop an army lead by Guan Yu, Cao Cao, and Lu Bu together? Currently on sale for $14.99, a discount of 75%.
