During Chapter 3 of the main story, players will be given the option to join a Division: a group of BLADEs specializing in one of several areas. There are 8 in total to choose from, so here’s a guide on what BLADE Divisions do and which one is best to join in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition.
What do BLADE Divisions do in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition?
In the original Xenoblade Chronicles X, your chosen Division gave you a minor passive buff and decided what activities contributed most to increasing your BLADE Level. These do not exist in the Definitive Edition, so your choice of Division no longer has any impact upon gameplay. You are free to choose whichever division fits your character best, or simply which logo you’d like to have next to your name during Online play.
Which BLADE Division is Best to Join in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition?
Because they no longer affect gameplay, the choice of which Division is Best in Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is now purely up to player preference. You can pick whichever one you like most based on vibes or theme alone, and you can also freely change your Division at any time by using the console in the BLADE Barracks. To help you decide, here is a quick reminder of which Division has which specialty.
- Pathfinders: This Division focuses on exploring and planting FrontierNav Probes to expand the network.
- Interceptors: These BLADEs are concerned with protecting people from hostile indigenous lifeforms.
- Harriers: Like the Interceptors, but specialized for taking down the most dangerous creatures proactively.
- Reclaimers: Scavenging the remains of the ship that brought Humans to Mira is the priority for this Division.
- Curators: An exploration-focused Division like the Pathfinders, but with the goal of gathering rare materials rather than planting probes.
- Prospectors: This Division is for people who like optimizing their FrontierNav Probe networks to mine resources and Miranium.
- Outfitters: Those who want to wield the fanciest guns and most high-tech Skells will be right at home with the Outfitters, as they help with equipment research.
- Mediators: These BLADES focus on solving disputes between people, which means it’s perfect for those who like to dig in to side-stories and characters.
