Sunrise has revealed that it will gradually publish Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion episodes for free, temporarily, on YouTube. The studio is making this campaign to celebrate the first anniversary of the official Code Geasschannel established on the popular video platform.
The announcement also includes a schedule for the episodes’ airing times. Sunrise will gradually publish episodes from both seasons of the Lelouch of the Rebellion sub-series every Friday and Sunday at 9 PM JST (8 AM EDT), starting on March 21, 2025. Each episode will also be available for only ten days except for the first episode, which will remain available until the final R2 episode that airs on September 19, 2025, expires on September 28, 2025.
The official teaser video is also available to watch right below. But while it is also viewable outside Japan, it remains to be seen whether the actual episodes that appear from March 21, 2025, will be available worldwide or not. This is because Japanese publishers often limit their anime episode accesses to Japan only, as in the case with Shueisha’s Jump Anime Festival.
Anime episodes of the 2006 show Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion and the 2008 second season R2 will appear on the franchise’s official Youtube channel from March 21 until September 28, 2025.
