Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake New Trailer Appears

As part of the latest March 2025 Nintendo Direct, a new trailer for Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D Remake appeared showing more environments and characters. The trailer reiterated that the game will be appearing in 2025, but no release date or month was shown yet.

Additionally, near the end of the new footage, an unnamed female character appeared alongside the Dragon Quest 2 protagonist. The character hasn’t been given a name yet, as the trailer only shows the party traversing new environments rendered in the remake’s HD-2D style.

The new remake of the first two Dragon Quest titles was announced back on June 2024 after being rumored to be in development alongside the previously released Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake, which released on November 14, 2024. That game featured both existing content and a number of new features, such as a new class that allowed us to tame and fight alongside iconic monsters.

Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch and it will appear in 2025. Other release platforms announced are PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam.
