World of Warcraft is finally getting one of the, if not the, most requested features by the community. World of Warcraft housing is on the way in the future and we know quite a lot about it. From who will be able to get a WoW house to any housing restrictions, this is what we know so far.
Can Everyone Get a House in WoW?
Blizzard made it a point in detailing the housing system that every player that wants a house will be able to get one. It is currently uncertain how the financial situation will work with owning a house, but it seems that it will be likely quite possible to get a house. This is contrary to certain other MMOs where it is seemingly impossible for everyone to get a house.
Better yet, it doesn’t matter if you are Horde or Alliance, either. Both factions will have their own form of housing. It will be as deep or not as you want it to be. The user interface will seemingly be intuitive, allowing you to customize quite a bit. This includes most housing and cosmetic items being available in the game itself in some way. Only a handful of items will be exclusive to the Cash Shop.
WoW Housing Restrictions and Neighborhoods, Explained
There are some notable restrictions when it comes to the upcoming housing in WoW, but it is fairly open for the most part. For instance, there are only two zones that will be available initially. The house system will work on its own content schedule with updates and patches in the future, so it is possible more zones will be available later on.
For now, though, you will only be able to buy a property in the same faction as your character. The Alliance zone will be a mix of mainly Elywnn Forest with a bit of Duskwood and Westfall. Meanwhile, the Horde option will take inspiration from Durotar and Azshara.
Houses will also work with Warbands. While a Horde character can’t buy property in the Alliance zone and vice versa, you will be able to visit instead. In addition, there are going to be instanced neighborhoods of 50 plots each with permanent neighbors. You can have a public neighborhood or make a private one with friends and allies.
The best part about the housing, though, is no subscription requirement whatsoever. You do not need an active sub to keep your land. This is contrary to other MMOs that require subscriptions to keep your plot. Unfortunately, there is no release date for this highly anticipated feature at this time.
World of Warcraft is available right now for PC. Housing will also arrive in the future.
