Final Fantasy XIV Fujifilm Instax Promo Includes Camera Emote

During the Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live LXXXV, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida and Global Community Producer Toshio “Foxclon” Murouchi announced the Fujifilm Instax camera will appear in a new FFXIV emote. The crossover is a part of a promotion that will be added in patch 7.18. This means we’ll see it on February 25, 2025, following maintenance for the update.

While we know how the emote will look, we don’t know many other details about it. For example, they didn’t bring up how we can earn it during the presentation. However, the segment did show it in full, with a Miqo’te Warrior of Light performing the action in a short video clip. That shows that a person will actually take a picture with an Instax. The instant camera will then pop out a photo from the top, just like it would in real life. A social media contest tied to the emote’s addition will also launch alongside it.

This is the slide that appeared during the stream:

Here is the full Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live LXXXV from YouTube, and the segment showing how the Fujifilm Instax camera emote animation of a FFXIV taking a photo with one appears at the 2:46:26 mark.

It is extremely common for there to be crossover emotes in Final Fantasy XIV, as well as other merchandise based on or tied to products. For example, when the KFC crossover came to the MMORPG, people could get an item code for an emote that made it look like their avatar was eating fried chicken. There was also a Grubhub Eat Pizza Emote in December 2021, which experienced issues in part due to its popularity.

Final Fantasy XIV is available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Fujifilm Instax camera emote will appear in FFXIV in the future.
