The third arc takes place in the Future Century year 72—twelve years after the events of the original G Gundam show in FC 60. In this universe, the Gundam Fight tournament is being put on hold while countries around the world work together to clean the Earth from DG Dust that had polluted the planet during the last tournament.

Before the start of the new arc, Sunrise revealed that Master Junior had studied under Sai Saici, who piloted Neo China’s Dragon Gundam in FC 60. He will now travel around the world to search for Domon Kasshu. The new protagonist believes Domon knows the location of the Eastern Gem, which is said to host the secret technique of the School of Master Asia. During his journey, he will also encounter Eichi, the new heroine who notably carries a giant abacus.

The final arc for G Gundam Gaiden, which takes place in the future, marks a departure from the first two arcs that covered additional events during the 13th Gundam Fight tournament in FC 60. The first arc, which launched in July 2024, depicted the fight between Domon Kasshu, Master Asia, and the Shuffle Alliance against the new Dark Shuffle group led by Master Asia’s fellow disciple, Dokko Kyuhai. The second arc added more details to the background of Schwarz Bruder, the representative Gundam Fighter of Neo Germany.

Mobile Fighter G Gundam Side Stories: The East is Burning Red is immediately available to read in web novel format in Japanese. Sunrise will continue publishing new chapters of the novels every Friday.
