Google just held its first Google Stadia Connect presentation, which talked about what people need to know about its gaming service. First, people in Belgium, Canada, Denmark, FInland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, the UK, and the USA will be able to begin using Stadia on Pixel phones, PCs, tablets, and TVs with Chromecast in November 2019. (An app will be available for the Pixel.)
A $9.99 Stadia Pro subscription will give people access to a select library of games that will run at 60fps in 4K with HDR and 5.1 surround sound and exclusive discounts. 35mbps was suggested as a necessity for the 4K experience during the presentation, but people with 10mbps will allegedly be able to use Stadia to play at 720p with 30fps and stereo sound. Stadia Base will let people buy games piecemeal at 1080p and 60fps without any subscriptions or discounts in 2020.
For people who want to opt in with a bundle, there will be a Stadia Founder’s Edition. This bundle will give people a three month Stadia Pro subscription, a Stadia Pro subscription for three months for a guest, a Chromecast Ultra, a limited edition Night Blue Stadia controller, the complete Destiny 2 experience, and your reserved Stadia name. It will cost $129. Only limited quantities will be available, and preorders are open at the official website. Also, an additional controller in Clearly White, Just Black, or Wasabi can be added for $69.
Google Stadia will launch in 14 countries in November 2019.
