Gudetama Plush Appears in Build-a-Bear Retail Stores

Build-a-Bear announced Gudetama, the latest plush in the Sanrio selection, is now available both online and in retail stores. There is also a promotion that is online only. If someone buys Gudetama alone or in a bundle, you also get a 10% discount on other Sanrio stuffed animals and items. 

This comes weeks after Gudetama made his online debut at the Build-a-Bear website. He first showed up there the day after Christmas 2024. At the time, you couldn’t get him unstuffed, so you also had to go with a stuffed option.

The update seems to suggest both the $36 plush and the $51 bundle option might be available in actual stores. If you visit the product pages, each one notes that they are available for delivery or pickup at a “workshop.” This could mean that the $15 hoodie is available on its own as well. Options to get it delivered unstuffed are also available. 

As a reminder, the plush is in two parts, which is Gudetama and the egg white cushion. Remember to check that you have both if you get one at a retail store.

The Gudetama plush is now available in-stores and online at Build-a-Bear, and the 10% discount is temporarily in effect online.
