Natsume is preparing another Harvest Moon Switch game. This time, it will be Harvest Moon: One World. In this entry, people will be able to build up farms and grow crops around the world, with Natsume developing and handling publishing duties in North and South America and Rising Star Games taking care of the European publishing duties.
As is common for new Natsume Harvest Moon games, the announcement was made without any character art, screenshots, or gameplay videos. Rather, there is a promise of “an all-new engine and graphics” and a logo. Unlike the Harvest Moon: Light of Hope logo, which offered an image of a lighthouse and a Harvest Sprite home, or the Harvest Moon: Skytree Village logo, which showed off the tree and village, we have no hint at the art direction for this new Harvest Moon Switch game. There are only some leaves and a 3D, wooden sign.
As always, it is important to note that the recent Natsume Harvest Moon games are different than the ones that used the name prior to 2014. Those installments are part of the Bokujou Monogatari series, which have been known as Story of Seasons since XSEED Games took over localizing and publishing them worldwide. Natsume had the rights to the Harvest Moon name and began making its own original farming sims using that and inspired by Story of Seasons starting with the Nintendo 3DS’ Harvest Moon: The Lost Valleyin 2014. So while the next Harvest Moon Switch game will be Harvest Moon: One World, the next Bokujou Monogatari/Story of Seasons game will be Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town.
Harvest Moon: One World will come to the Nintendo Switch in the Americas and Europe in 2020.
