How to Earn The “Get in the Statue, Envoy” Achievement in Avowed

“Get in the Satue, Envoy” is a cryptic Achievement in Avowed with the simple description “Contemplate death.” While an obvious and brilliant reference to the Neon Genesis Evangelion meme, just how do you earn this Achievement?

To earn the “Get in the Statue, Envoy” Achievement in Avowed, you must make two specific choices at the end of the “Dawntreader” sidequest. If you’re avoiding spoilers, then agree to both of Sargamis’ requests to earn the Achievement. If not, keep reading to find out more!

How to contemplate death and earn “Get in the Statue, Envoy” in Avowed

Editor’s Note: There will be spoilers for the “Dawntreader” quest in Avowed.

The climax of the “Dawntreader” side quest in Avowed has you choose between placing the relic in the statue or denying Sargamis and bashing his shiny, gold dome in.

To earn “Get in the Statue, Envoy,” you must first agree toput the relic in the statue. Once you place the relic in the statue and pull the lever, Sargamis’ plan will fail. You then need to agree to set your soul into the statue and stand under the machine to earn the Achievement.

As the dialogue suggests many, many times, placing your soul into the statue of Eora will kill you. But it’s worth it for the Achievement, right?

If you’ve already dealt with Sargamis and didn’t offer him your soul, I don’t blame you. But you will need to either revert to an earlier save or start a new character to earn “Get in the Statue, Envoy.”

What happens if you let Sargamis put your soul in the statue?

There’s no real downside to allowing Sargamis to place your soul in the statue. Following your guaranteed death, you automatically revert to your last save.

I recommend manually saving before conversing with Sargamis or placing the relic. The autosave puts you just before sacrificing yourself, which means being forced to kill Sargamis to earn his Unique weapon.

No matter whether you decide to kill Sargamis or place the relic in the statue again, you can still earn his Unique one-handed melee weapon, “Last Light of Day.” Either from looting his corpse or talking to him once you finish the quest. The final call is up to you, Envoy.

How to start “Dawntreader” quest in Avowed

To start the “Dawntreader” quest, talk to Ofrye in Southern Paradis. He will request that you find his brother in a temple marked on the map, eventually leading to Sargamis further within.

Sargamis will then ask you to retrieve the relic and return it to him. Finding the temple and relic is as simple as following the waypoints, so make sure to track the objectives.

Avowed is available for PC and Xbox Series X/S.
