Civilization VII has four main victory conditions, one of which has to do with the Economic stat. Players can focus on an Economic Victory if they prefer controlling finances, Gold, and other resources. Here’s everything you need to know about the Civ VII Economic Legacy Paths and how to use them to get a victory.

All Civilization VII Economic Legacy Paths

The key with the Economic Victory lies in its Legacy Paths. Each of the three Ages has a Legacy Path. While you can only actually win in the Modern Age, the points you earn in the other two paths give you solid leads on the Economic Victory.

Here is the Legacy Path conditions you will want to meet in the Age of Antiquity and its rewards:

  • Trade 7 Resources (Use a Trade Route): Get 1 Legacy Point
  • Trade 14 Resources: Get 1 Legacy Point
  • Trade 20 Resources: Get 1 Legacy Point and keep all cities in the Age of Exploration

Here are the goals for the Age of Exploration:

  • Return 10 Treasure Fleets (Gained through Distant Lands): Get 1 Legacy Point
  • 20 Treasure Fleets: Get 1 Legacy Point and +2 Gold for unique resources in the Modern Age
  • 30 Treasure Fleets: Get 1 Legacy Point and all cities remain in the Modern Age

How to Get the Civ VII Economic Victory and World Bank

The core of getting an Economic Victory in Civ VII happens during the final Age known as the Modern Age. It is here that you get the final set of goals for you to meet for the Legacy Path at this time:

  • Get 150 Railroad Tycoon Points (By building a Rail Station and Factory for resources): Get 1 Legacy Point
  • 300 Railroad Tycoon Points: Get 1 Legacy Point
  • 500 Railroad Tycoon Points: Get 1 Legacy Point and unlock the Great Banker

It is with the Great Banker that you are finally able to get an Economic Victory. You need to build the Great Banker unit and send them off to every capital in the world. After that, build the World Bank and you will win the match.

Civilization VII releases for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 11, 2025. It is currently available in Early Access.
