How to Get a Civilization VII Military Victory

One of the most infamous and popular victory conditions in Civilization VII is going the Military route. If you like having power and conquering the entire world like some of the various leaders you can play as, this is the way to go. Here’s everything you need to know about how to get a Military Victory in Civ VII.

All Civilization VII Military Legacy Paths

As with the other three main victory conditions, winning using the Military Victory has you deal with various Legacy Paths. There is a Legacy Path in each of the three Ages. While the Modern Age Legacy Path is the only one required to win, it is recommended to do the other two as well for the bonuses that help you win.

The first Legacy Path for the Age of Antiquity can be found below and its rewards:

• Have 6 Settlement Points (1 point for regular Settlements; 2 points for conquered ones): Get 1 Legacy Point
• 9 Settlements Points: Get 1 Legacy Point and +2 Settlement Limit in the Age of Exploration
• 12 Settlement Points: Get 1 Legacy Point and a free Infantry for each Age of Exploration Settlement

The Age of Exploration has its own Legacy Path, which is pretty similar:

• Have 4 Distant Lands Settlements Points: Get 1 Legacy Point
• 8 Distant Lands Settlements Points: Get 1 Legacy Point and +10 Production for Distant Lands Settlements in the Modern Age
• 12 Distant Lands Settlements: Get 1 Legacy Point and a free Infantry and Ranged unit in each of the Distant Lands Settlements in the Modern Age

How to Get a Civ VII Military Victory

Finally, there is the third Legacy Path in the Modern Age, which is necessary for the Military Victory in Civ VII. This is pretty similar to the previous two paths, but with a focus on Ideology. You need to pick between Communism, Democracy, and Fascism for your civilization.

Every Settlement you conquer gets you a point if you have no Ideology. If you do have one, though, you’ll get two points. And you’ll get three points if the Settlement has a different Ideology and you make them switch.

• 10 Settlements Points: Get 1 Legacy Point
• 15 Settlements Points: Get 1 Legacy Point
• 20 Settlements Points: Get 1 Legacy Point and Manhattan Project Wonder

You will then want to build the Manhattan Project. Once you do this, complete Operation Ivy. This will make the hydrogen bomb and earn you the Military Victory.
