One of the most frustrating parts about Stardew Valley is how short the days are. There is only so much time in an in-game day, and you can’t complete everything every day. This includes activities like petting all of your animals. This is where the Autopetter comes into play in help you out in Stardew Valley.
How the Autopetter Works
The Autopetter works pretty much exactly how it sounds. What this device does is automatically pet your animals for you. As you likely already know, petting your animals daily is a crucial part of raising them. This will not only boost your relationship with that animal, which will produce better goods, but it will prevent them from reversing their relationship as well.
The problem is you can get a lot of animals in this game. It is possible to spend a couple of in-game hours just petting all of your chickens, pets, and other livestock. This is where the Autopetter comes into play. It takes care of the annoying repetition of having to pet every individual animal.
How to Get an Autopetter in Stardew Valley
Getting an Autopetter in Stardew Valley is a bit of a challenge and I would consider this more of a late-game activity. There are four main ways you are able to get an Autopetter at this time:
- Buy at JojaMart for 50,000 g: You must complete the Joja Community Development Form first
- Skull Cavern Treasure Chests: 3.6% chance of obtaining
- Golden Mystery Boxes: 0.5% chance
- Killing monsters or breaking crates/barrels in the Mines: Must do Danger in the Deep or the Shrine of Challenge
Once you have an Autopetter, place it in a barn or coop for it to activate. It will automatically pet all animals in that location each day.
Stardew Valley is available right now for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
