Stardew Valley features so many different materials and ores for you to find throughout the world. One of the more challenging ores to find in Stardew Valley is Iridium, which takes a good bit of effort to find. That said, it is well worth the effort to get Iridium since it has some valuable uses.
How to Get Iridium in Stardew Valley
There are a ton of ways to get Iridium, but none of them are super easy. Here are all of the methods I have found so far for how to get this rare ore:
- Iridium Mining Nodes in the Quarry, Skull Cavern, or Volcano
- Mystic Stones
- Geodes (Try Krobus and at the Oasis)
- Random crates and barrels
- Fishing Treasure Chests
- Traveling Cart (Random)
- Statue of Perfection
- Fallen Meteorites
- Certain Monster Drops: Iridium Bats, Iridium Crabs, Iridium Goldems, and Purple Slimes
In the end, the method I recommend to players is going to be simply buying them. This is can be done through purchasing Geodes, which are a bit random, or directly from the Traveling Cart. Both avenues are random, so you may need a little luck on your side.
How to Use Iridium
Once you have some Iridium Ore in Stardew Valley, it is now finally time for you to use it. There are a few uses for Iridium, such as gifting to villagers, but I don’t recommend this since most dislike it. You can also use Iridium to make the Iridium Energy Shirt at the Sewing Machine. It is also necessary for a couple of quests, like Marlon’s “Treasure Hunt” quest.
You can trade five pieces of Iridium for a Mega Bomb with the Desert Trader. It is also possible to smelt this ore into Iridium Bar if you have five pieces or more. Finally, there are two crafting recipes that involve Iridium:
- Deluxe Scarecrow: 1 Iridium Ore, 40 Fiber, 50 Wood
- Warp Totem: Desert: 4 Iridium Ore, 1 Coconut, 2 Hardwood
Stardew Valley is available right now for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
