How to Get Comaqchi Carapace in Monster Hunter Wilds

Sometimes the armor and weapons you craft in Monster Hunter will require materials not sourced from the beast they’re themed after, but from smaller monsters instead. For example, the Nerscylla set requires Comaqchi Carapace, so here’s how to find it in Monster Hunter Wilds.

Where to Find Comaqchi Carapace in Monster Hunter Wilds

The Comaqchi are small pink-purple insects found around the Iceshard Cliffs area, usually sticking to walls and jumping out at passersby. They are pretty consistently found in areas 8 and 15 of the cliffs, but you can also find them by bringing up the map and hitting left or right on the directional buttons (or A and D if you’re using keyboard and mouse) to bring up the Filter Icons list. This will allow you to cycle through all the resource nodes and small monsters in the area, before either setting a waypoint or simply highlighting them all on the map.

Insect-type small monsters (Neopterons) like Vespoids or Bnahabras usually need to be poisoned or killed while you have the Entomologist skill equipped, but thankfully Comaqchi are not like this. Instead, you can use your weapon as usual and carve them to get their drops. You will need to have reached High Rank in Monster Hunter Wilds in order to get the Comaqchi Carapace, however, as on Low Rank they drop Comaqchi Shells instead. Other drops include Frozen Icebone, Sleep Herbs, and either Monster Fluid or Monster Broth depending on the rank, but the Carapace appears pretty consistently.
