How to Get Friendship Blossoms in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Hello Kitty Island Adventure is all about finding bits and baubles around the island to fashion into wonderful gifts for your fellow island residents. These gifts will strengthen their friendship with you, and reveal new content and features for you to play with. As a result, gift giving in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is your number one priority. There is a caveat though. You can only give each of your friends three gifts a day. This can make the process of leveling up your friendships slower than you’d like. Luckily, Island Adventure remedies this with a rare in-game item: The Friendship Blossom. Friendship Blossoms refresh the amount of gifts you can give a single NPC on the particular day you use it. Although not as powerful as the Friendship Bouquet (which you can learn more about by reading our guide on How to Get Friendship Bouquets in Hello Kitty Island Adventure,) the Friendship Blossom is slightly more common. The easiest way to get Friendship Blossoms in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is to collect them from the daily rewards you can receive from My Melody at the start of every daily reset. My Melody will give you a free Friendship Blossom every Tuesday and Thursday! However, be aware of when your daily reset in Hello Kitty Island Adventure happens! The in-game reset happens at the same time globally, but depending on your region, this could be midday, early morning, or very late at night.

A finite number of Friendship Blossoms can also be earned by completing in-game achievements. From your tablet menu, select “Achievements” and select the “Friend Forever” category. You’ll notice that Friendship Blossoms are a fairly common reward for completing achievements in this category. That being said, a fair amount of the achievements rewarding Friendship Blossoms have lofty, end-game requirements. Instead, focus on the “Know Thy Friends” and “Through Thick and Thin” achievements. The goals to unlock these achievements are as follows:

  • Know Thy Friends: Gift a present with all three tags liked by the recipient
  • Through Thick and Thin: Have a character follow you to the lowest trench and the tallest peak.

“Know Thy Friends” is accomplished in many ways, but the easiest way to do it is by raising your friendship with Hangyodon to level four. This will upgrade the Espresso Machine at the Comedy Club, and allow you to make Chocolate Chai. You can make Chocolate Chai by using a Candlenut, a Magma Bloom, and a Chocolate Coin at the Espresso Machine. Giving the Chocolate Chai to Cinnamoroll will earn you the achievement, and one Friendship Blossom!

Completing “Through Thick and Thin” is a matter of quest progression. “In this case, “The tallest peak” is referring to Icy Peak, an area only accessible after finishing various “Island Mystery” quests. “A Challenging Rescue” requires the player to reach the summit- where a fast travel point awaits. With the quest done, ask any NPC to hang out with you and fast travel to the top! For “the lowest trench,” head to the “Kelp Maze” Rainbow Reef fast travel point with the same NPC. The lowest trench is North of here, and directly South of the pier jutting out from the shores of Gemstone Mountain. If you have enough stamina, you’ll reach the bottom, and earn the Friendship Blossom! If you run out of stamina before you get deep enough, find some more stamina apples, and try again later. The image above should help you pinpoint where the trench is.

How to Use Friendship Blossoms in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Using a Friendship Blossom in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is a little different compared to Island and Friendship Bouquets. Rather than using them from your inventory, you hand them to island residents as gifts. This may seem a bit confusing, as one would expect that giving a gift to an NPC will take up one gift slot for the day. Friendship Blossoms function similarly to quest items you have to give to NPCs. They don’t actually count towards your gift giving limit. Even with zero gift slots available on the resident, you can still give a Friendship Blossom to them using the gift menu.

With that in mind, Blossoms won’t allow you to exceed the maximum of three gift slots. It’s generally good practice to avoid using the Friendship Blossom until you’ve exhausted all your gift giving opportunities for the NPC you want to give it to. Blossoms follow the same inventory rules as Bouquets do. With certain exceptions, a player can only carry three Friendship Blossoms at a time. If you load your save to collect a Blossom as a daily reward, but have three Blossoms in your inventory (or more in some cases,) My Melody will not give you another Blossom. Plan accordingly!

Hello Kitty Island Adventure is all about gift-giving and item collecting. The various pick-ups scattered across the island can be refreshed in a similar way to NPC gift slots with the Island Bouquet.
