How to Get Friendship Bouquets in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

The majority of Hello Kitty Island Adventure’s gameplay loop revolves around giving gifts to island inhabitants in order to unlock more content. Gift giving raises friendship levels, and higher friendship levels unlock quests, new items to craft, exclusive furniture, and more. However, you can’t shower your fellow island residents with gifts ad-nauseam. Hello Kitty Island Adventure imposes a daily three gift limit on every NPC. This is the game’s way of staggering content out over multiple days, requiring the player to check back in periodically to advance story progress. Luckily, there is a way to circumvent the daily limits with a helpful in-game item: the Friendship Bouquet! Here’s how to get Friendship Bouquets in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and how best to use them.

How to Get Friendship Bouquets in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

The simplest way to get Friendship Bouquets in Hello Kitty Island Adventure is via My Melody’s Daily Reward feature. Every day of the real-world week, you can load your save file to receive valuable or hard-to-find items. My Melody will give you a free Friendship Bouquet every Saturday. Be careful when choosing what time you load your save to check for the daily reward. Different time zones have their daily reset at different times. Make sure you’re checking for your rewards before the daily reset rolls the reward over to Sunday’s! Recent updates have also added new chests across the island containing Friendship Bouquets. The easiest of these chests to find is in Merry Meadows, a secret area you can unlock after finding the Pickaxe. Read our guide on How to Unlock and Visit Merry Meadow in Hello Kitty Island Adventure to learn how to access it. The chest is next to the Meadow’s main entrance. It’s hard to miss.

Another chest holding a Friendship Bouquet can be found inside the Red Hot Ruins. This is a series of puzzle rooms that opens during the “Enraging Ruins” quest. For best results, it’s better to complete the quest first before looking for the chest. However, given the chest’s placement it’s possible you’ll encounter it during the quest itself. If you’re still looking for it, the easiest way to reach it is by starting at the “Upper Ruins Entrance” fast travel point. From here, jump off the ledge to the West, and descend to the cliff with four doors below. Enter the leftmost door. The chest should be in the center of this room, immediately visible after heading East for a short distance. The map above will give you its approximate location, and the shape of the room you’re looking for.

How to Use Friendship Bouquets in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

To use a Friendship Bouquet in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, the process is the same as using any other item from your inventory. Open your inventory, move to the second tab, and select the Friendship Bouquet. A menu will pop up asking you to confirm the use of the Bouquet. You’ll also be given a notice informing you that the Bouquet will allow you to give three more gifts to friends after using it. Select “Use,” and voila! There isn’t a visual or auditory confirmation that the Bouquet has refreshed the gift limits on your friends. To confirm that it worked, walk up to an NPC you’ve already given gifts to, and see if their gift counter has refreshed. If you can give them three gifts, the Bouquet has activated!

Obviously the Friendship Bouquet is a rare item. It should be used carefully to maximize the benefits you get out of it. Friendship Bouquets won’t push your gifting opportunities beyond the maximum of three for any NPC. For example, if you give Hello Kitty two gifts, a Friendship Bouquet will only restore the two gift uses instead of a full three. In other words, make sure you use up all of your gift slots for every island resident before using the Friendship Bouquet in order to get the full benefit of its effect! You can quickly check if you’ve exhausted your gift slots with an NPC by opening your phone menu and checking the “Friends” option. Friends who have a gift box icon on the top left of their profile picture can still be given gifts!

Most importantly, with the exception of receiving them from developer messages for special events, you can only hold three Friendship Bouquets at any given time. If you load your save on Saturday with three (or more) of them already in your inventory, My Melody will not give you an additional Friendship Bouquet. Fortunately, there is no limit to the amount of Friendship Bouquets you can use in a given day. If you’re capped out, spend your Friendship Bouquets before Saturday to ensure you get your weekly gift!

Enjoy optimizing your gift-giving potential! If you play your cards right, you’ll likely fast-track a few friendship levels with several residents.
