How to Get Honeycomb in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Although many items in Hello Kitty Island Adventure are as easy to obtain as picking them up off the ground, some require extra legwork. In some cases, they can only be collected in extremely limited quantities every day, or are exclusive to particular yearly events. The scarcity of certain materials in Island Adventure is meant to accentuate their value, and further highlight the rarity of the items you can craft from them. These materials often fit into niche aspects of the game. In other words, they’re difficult to acquire because they serve very specific purposes. The Honeycomb is a great example. Keep reading to learn about how to get Honeycomb in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and a brief explanation on how to use it.

How to Get Honeycomb in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

There is only one method of acquiring Honeycomb in Hello Kitty Island Adventure: giving gifts to Wish me mell, the adorable rabbit growing flowers in the Merry Meadow area of the island. You can’t meet her until you discover the Merry Meadow location through a series of quests. Check out our guides on How to Unlock and Visit Merry Meadow in Hello Kitty Island Adventure, and How to Meet and Befriend Wish me mell in Hello Kitty Island Adventure to accomplish this. Once you’ve met Wish me mell, she’ll be hanging out in the Meadow. She also might be in the Gemstone Mountain Dance Hall, or the Rainbow Reef Comedy Club if it’s Friday or Saturday, respectively.

Wish me mell reciprocates gifts with Honeycombs. However, the amount of Honeycomb she gifts is directly proportional to the quality of gift she receives, and the strength of your friendship with her. Don’t simply hand over a gift with the most amount of hearts over it to Wish me mell. Hello Kitty Island Adventure calculates the total number of items you’ll receive from the NPC based on various factors. The number of hearts over your gift is one such factor, but so are the specific tags those items possess. Items with fewer hearts but specific tags can earn you more items from island residents!

Wish me mell’s favorite item is the Rare Candle, and giving her one will grant you six Honeycombs plus a few more depending on how high a level your friendship is. Paradoxically, this item requires Honeycomb to make. Since we don’t want to lose Honeycombs in order to gain Honeycombs, we can take advantage of the way gift values are calculated in Island Adventure to give Wish me mell an equally valuable item. This will require the upgraded Soda Station. With some Pineapple and Magma Bloom, two readily available items, you can craft a Pineapple Lava Soda. Wish me mell values this item as much as the Rare Candle, and will give you the same amount of Honeycombs for it!

Alternatively, you can also visit the Icy Peak area and catch a few Woolox. Wish me mell loves these critters, and will give you five Honeycombs for them. While not the most optimal gift, Woolox aren’t a drain on your materials, and only cost time.

How to Use Honeycomb in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

As previously mentioned, Honeycomb is a niche item more-or-less serving two unique purposes. Honeycomb can be converted into Beeswax after reaching level one in your friendship with Wish me mell. After exploring Merry Meadow, you’re bound to come across crafting plans for various candles. The Beeswax can be combined with dye pouches to craft these candles. After unlocking the Creation Station, you’ll be able to use Beeswax and Flowers to create many variants of flowered candles! All of these items can be placed in cabins as decoration. Some are necessary to attract specific visitors to the island.

After progressing your friendship with Usahana, you will eventually unlock the ability to make Boba! The process for making Boba is slightly different to other cooking methods, due to how many ingredients you can use. When making Boba, the amount of Honeycomb you add will directly affect how sweet it is. The maximum sweetness you can add to Boba is worth three Honeycombs. With Wish me mell only providing a maximum of nine Honeycomb per gift, and gifts being limited to three a day, crafting Boba will steadily drain you of Honeycombs. Hence, the importance of maximizing your Wish me mell gift giving!

Good luck with your Honeycomb farming! Although not as elusive as Honeycombs, Sticks are in high demand during Hello Kitty Island Adventure’s end-game quests. Read our guide on Where to Find Sticks in Hello Kitty Island Adventure to make sure you aren’t without. To craft the Pineapple Lava Soda, you’re going to need a consistently supply of Magma Bloom.
