How to Get Lockpicks in Avowed

It is likely that you will come across some locked doors in Avowed that are there to prevent you from finding treasure or locating a secret area. As you might expect, it is possible to open up these locked doors, but you will need some lockpicks first. Of course, finding lockpicks in Avowed is easier said than done.

Where to Get Lockpicks in Avowed

There are a few ways to get lockpicks in this fantasy RPG, so it really comes down to personal preference and convenience. The ways you can get lockpicks are as follows:

• Buy lockpicks from traders
• Obtain lockpicks as treasure in the wilds
• Get lockpicks by defeating enemies

The last two options are going to be the most random. Your best bet with defeating foes is to worry about the random bandits in the world, as they often have lockpicks. My personal recommendation is just to buy them off of vendors. Some of the easiest vendors to get lockpicks from include Lynna and Flint, both of which you can find pretty early in the Dawnshore region.

How to Use Lockpicks

Once you have some lockpicks, you are then able to open up locked doors and the like in Avowed. This is where the lockpicking system may surprise you. For one, there is no minigame here at all unlike other similar fantasy RPGs. You just hold down the button while having enough lockpicks and it will automatically unlock guaranteed.

The only real twist is each lock requires a different amount of lockpicks. An early locked door might only need two lockpicks, while there are potentially up to five lockpicks needed for a single door in some later instances. If you struggle to get more lockpicks for these doors at vendors that are out of stock, I suggest going to a campsite and then leaving for the inventory to be restocked.
