How to Get More Storage Space in Atelier Yumia

There is a cathartic repetition to exploring the open-terrain and collecting materials in Atelier Yumia. When you first begin your adventure, you can craft a container at your Atelier base to hold items you collect from the environment. However, it will eventually run out of space. But don’t fret! You can increase the amount of storage space a container can carry. Want to know how? Well, continue reading on!

How Do I Unlock the Warehouse in Atelier Yumia?

To unlock the Warehouse, you will need to unlock the pioneering effort. You will gain this feature when Yumia, Viktor and Isla clear their first manabound area, which will happen in the first few hours of playing the main story. When the team returns to the Ligneus Survey Base, Erhard will allow you to participate in pioneering quests.

Completing quests that are part of the pioneering effort will unlock new recipes and base types like the Warehouse. A lot of these tasks have easy requirements to fulfil, like building a particular item at the workbench or placing an item at a campsite. Once you have completed the quest, you will want to check back in with Erhard. To find him, fast-travel to the Ligneus Survey Base from the map, immediately turn around, and go up the stairs. (We have placed a screenshot above of where you can find him on the map). After completing 30% of the Ligneus Region pioneering quests, you will earn the Warehouse.

How Do I Get More Storage Space in Atelier Yumia?

Now that you have unlocked the Warehouse, you are ready to build it, provided you have the materials to make it. To do this, you will want to head to a building area. The easiest way to find a building area is by looking at the map and then fast-traveling to that location. You will also naturally unlock more building areas as you progress through the game.

When you arrive at the building space, enter the shortcut wheel by pressing LB and then go to “Building”. You will then want to look at the catalog by pressing start. From here, you will then be presented with a list of different types of building structures. For the Warehouse, you must build a storehouse building, which will cost you the following materials:

  • Great Tree Root 10
  • Wood 20
  • Stone 10
  • Scrap Fabric 10

Wood and stone are very common materials that you should easily be able to pick up from the open environment. The other two are a bit more specific. A good place to get the Great Treet Root is by breaking Wizenend Wood, which can be found at the Great Tree Tendrils. Scrap fabric can be found by picking up golden wheat. If you’re near the beginning of your adventure and haven’t unlocked too many areas, you may struggle to find this item as it’s more readily available later. However, we saw golden wheat in a small building near the Dux Lighthouse. We will place a screenshot of the location on the map above for reference.

It’s worth noting that the amount of storage you have will increase for each Warehouse you place down. The Material Box is another handy item you can create, as this box will automatically store any materials you find while you have a full inventory. To unlock the material box, you will have to complete 70% of the Ligneus Region pioneering quests.
