How to Get Mukumuku and the Flying Squirrels in Suikoden 2

In Suikoden 2, players can add five adorable flying squirrels known as “The Five Squirrel Squad” to their party to earn an Achievement/Trophy of the same name. Here’s how to find and recruit Mukuku, Makumaku, Mikumiku, Mekumeku, and Mokumoku.

How to Recruit Mukumuku in Suikoden 2

In Kyaru Town, then take the western path to your home, Genkaku’s Dojo. Follow the dirt path to the right of your house north, up to a giant tree. Interact with the giant tree three times, and an adorable squirrel in a cape will jump out. This is Mukumuku, who will immediately join your party if you have the space.

If you’ve already recruited Nanami, the above method will no longer work. Instead, you must travel the path between Greenhill and Muse-Greenhill Checkpoint with an empty party until Mukumuku appears. You technically can have party members with you, as long as there’s one free slot, though the chance of encountering Mukumuku decreases the more full your party is.

Of all of the Five Squirrel Squad, Mukumuku is the only star recruit. This means you don’t need to recruit the other four squirrels for the 108 Star ending if you don’t have the time.

How to Recruit the Squirrels in Suikoden 2

Recruiting the other four members of the Five Squirrel Squad — Makumaku, Mekumeku, Mikumiku, and Mokumoku — works similarly to the second Mukumuku method. You must walk in a specific location on the overworld map near Greenhill with an open party slot. Eventually, the respective squirrel will join your party. There won’t be any announcement or animation when a squirrel joins, so keep checking your party regularly.

Makumaku

Makumaku is on the path between Two River and Greenhill, which you can reach by exiting Two River through the Kobold Village. He will only appear if you have an open party slot and have already recruited Makumaku.

Mikumiku

Mikumiku is on the path between Forest Village and Greenhill. You must have recruited Makumaku and have an open party slot.

Mekumeku

Mekumeku is on the path between Greenhill and Path to Metilda. You must have recruited Mikumiku and have an open party slot.

Mokumoku

Finally, Mokumuku is on the path that leads to a dead end south of the entrance to Forest Village. You must have all the other squirrels for Mokumoku to join you.

Once you’ve recruited all five squirrels, you’ll earn “The Five Squirrel Squad” Achievement/Trophy. Plus, you now have a party full of adorable squirrel friends. It’s a win-win!
