How to get Paradisan Ladder in Avowed

One of the early bottlenecks for upgrading your gear will be getting enough of this particular plant, and while it’s common enough you’ll really need a lot of it. So to help get you prepared for tougher threats, here’s how and where to get more Paradisan Ladder in Avowed.

Where to find Paradisan Ladder in Avowed

The simplest way to find Paradisan Ladder is to look for the plant itself while out and adventuring in the Living Lands of Avowed. You can find an image of the plant below, but it’s got green and red/brown leaves with strands growing over the top, and several spawn in the Strangleroot where you go for an early quest. It will glow yellow until picked and appear on your minimap, too, so keep an eye out. If you have ability points to spare, you may also want to consider grabbing the Scavenger perk from the Ranger skill tree, which gives you a chance to gather an extra item and can make upgrades themselves cheaper from level 8.

You can also scavenge it from the various pieces of gear you come across, or find it in chests. In Avowed you should probably be breaking down any gear you come across rather than selling it anyway, but be double sure to check if an item can give you Paradisan Ladder too. Unfortunately, it’s not common from base level items but anything already upgraded may contain it and you can reclaim it from your own upgraded gear that way too.

Your best source, however, is likely to check any shops you come across. Not every merchant will carry it, but some like Merylin in Paradis and Lynna at Claviger’s lander often have a supply. And if gold isn’t tight for you, maybe peruse any equipment they have to see if any breaks down into useful resources too.

Finally, you can break down (or build up!) certain crafting materials themselves at the work bench in your camp. You can switch tabs at the top of the screen, and for our purposes we’ll be looking at breaking down the Fine quality reagent Hylea’s Talon in to Paradisan Ladder. Naturally, you’ll only find this reagent once you start encoutnering Fine quality items, but if have a few favorite weapons that need upgrading from the previous tier then a single talon makes 3 ladder. If you find you have a glut of ladder later that you don’t need, you can make a talon out of 4 ladder instead.
