Final Fantasy XIV has yet another puppy companion to add to your ever-growing minion collection. There is now a beagle dog minion that you are able to get in FFXIV known officially as the Royal Hound minion. That said, the game doesn’t explain well how to obtain this minion in the first place.
How to Get the Beagle Dog Royal Hound Minion in FFXIV
If you want to add to your collection of dog minions, it is possible to now get a Beagle in this MMO as a minion. To do this, you have two main methods of being able to do this. The first way to get the Royal Hound minion is the simplest but most expensive: buy it off the Market Board. Yes, you can buy and sell this minion. Just know it is going to be probably pretty expensive at first.
The second method you have is to earn it yourself. To earn the Royal Hound Beagle minion, you are going to need to complete The Underkeep dungeon. This particular dungeon is the only way to unlock this minion. However, doing so is easier said than done.
How to Unlock The Underkeep Dungeon
If you want to earn the Royal Hound Beagle dog minion in FFXIV, you will need to first unlock The Underkeep dungeon. To do this, you need to ensure you are up to date on the main scenario and progress through the Patch 7.2 Seekers of Eternity storyline. This will automatically unlock this dungeon for you.
In addition, you will need an item level of 705 or higher to be able to do this dungeon. Unfortunately, the Royal Hound minion is not a guaranteed drop. It can appear after defeating the third and final boss of this dungeon. That said, it is a pretty low chance so you may have to grind this dungeon a lot. While you can complete it with others, there is only one minion that will drop. So, you may want to consider just running the Trust system for it.
