How to Get the New FFXIV Faux Hollows Mount

Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail offers many ways to enjoy its older content, which spans the past 10 years. The Faux Hollows event allows players to take on scaled-up versions of Trials from past expansions once per week for a chance at various rewards. With the recent release of patch 7.1, Warriors of Light can relive a Stormblood favorite, the Jade Stoa, to earn points toward one of the newly added mounts. Here’s how to get the new Venturous Kamuy Faux Hollows mount in FFXIV: Dawntrail.

How to Get the Venturous Kamuy Flute Mount in FFXIV Faux Hollows

To obtain the new Faux Hollows mount in FFXIV: Dawntail, you must earn 600 Faux Leaves by completing The Jade Stoa (Unreal) trial and playing the weekly Faux Hollows event.

Once you’ve collected 600 Faux Leaves, speak to the Faux Commander NPC at (X: 5.7, Y: 6.1) in Idyllshire. From the menu, select Exchange Faux Leaves, and head to the ‘Others’ tab. You can purchase the Venturous Kamuy Flute from here.

Alternatively, you can purchase the Venturous Kamuy Flute from Khloe Aliapoh in exchange for one Gold Certificate of Commendation from the Wondrous Tails event.

How to Unlock and Play Faux Hollows

If you haven’t yet unlocked Faux Hollows, you’ll need to meet a few prerequisites:

• Must be at least Level 80 with any Disciple of War or Magic job
• Must have completed the Shadowbringers MSQ
• Must have completed the quest “Keeping Up with the Aliapohs”

If you have completed those steps, speak to the Painfully Ishgardian Man NPC at (X: 7.0, Y: 5.9) in Idyllshire to receive the “Fantastic Mr. Faux” quest. This quest allows you to participate in Unreal Trials, which require a minimum level of 90.

Once you’ve completed the Unreal Trial, you can speak with the Faux Commander NPC and select the ‘Play Faux Hollows’ option.

In Faux Hollows, you’re presented with a board of 36 blank tiles, in which you can flip over 11 to reveal hidden images underneath. Your goal is to reveal as many complete images as possible within your 11 flips, which reward you with Faux Leaves. The amount of Faux Leaves rewarded differs depending on which images are flipped over.

While the Dual Blades illustration offers the least amount of Faux Leaves, uncovering it also rewards you with a “Retelling”, which allows you to complete the Unreal Trial and play Faux Hollows once more before the weekly limit. Essentially, this allows you to play Faux Hollows twice per week, potentially doubling the amount of Faux Leaves you can earn.
