How to Negotiate Store Prices With Customers in Sugardew Island

Sugardew Island has some intriguing systems that sets it apart from some of the other farming sims. One such element is the negotiation system. Players are able to open up a store and negotiate their store prices with customers to make more cash in Sugardew Island.

How to Open Up the Store

First and foremost, you need to know how to open up the store. You can find your store on the eastern side of your home just past the animal barns and pens. Before you can open up, you need to go inside and interact with your counters. It is here that you stock the store with your various goods, like the wheat, carrots, and more that you grow.

Then you just go behind the counter and interact with it to actually open the store. Customers will come inside and browse the goods you have for sale. Note that you can only open your store once per day. If you happen to forget to harvest some crops and put them up for sale, it will have to wait until the next day, so be careful.

Best Choices to Negotiate With Customers in Sugardew Island

The most interesting part about running the store in Sugardew Island is that you are able to negotiate your prices with customers. While you can’t change your base price, you can haggle with some customers. You want to look for the customers that have a question mark above their heads. The ones with a smiley face will only buy it for the standard price.

Whenever a customer has a question mark, you will get to pick between three options to possibly persuade them and earn some bonus money:

  • Recommend
  • Advise
  • Discount

Discount will sell it for a bit less than usual and you are guaranteed to sell it this way. Advise will just keep the price the base price and you have a high chance of selling it to the customer. Finally, there is recommend. This one will get you some extra cash, but it has a lower chance of success. If it fails, the person will just leave and not buy anything at all. Unfortunately, it is purely a gamble system with no way to manipulate or improve your chances of success, so be aware of that.

That said, you are likely to sell your stock to the next customer anyways, so I always suggest recommend whenever possible to at least have a chance of extra Sugardew money.

Sugardew Island is available right now for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
