How to Recruit Yuzu in Suikoden 2

Yuzu is a recruitable character in Suikoden 2, representing the Chisyu Star as one of the 108 Stars of Destiny. Not only do you need her to achieve the 108 Star ending, but recruiting Yuzu also unlocks the ranch feature at HQ, allowing you to acquire livestock and more ingredients for cooking!

How to recruit Yuzu and unlock the Ranch in Suikoden 2

Note: Before you can recruit Yuzu, you must have completed Hix and Tengaar’s quest and recruited them both. If you can’t find Yuzu, you may also need to complete your current story objective.

To begin recruiting Yuzu in Suikoden 2, head to Kobold Village, south of Two River City. When you arrive, walk up to the trading post and speak to Yuzu, the only other human in the village. Ask her what’s wrong and she’ll tell you she lost her grandaddy’s sheep, so select “Want me to find them for you?” to continue.

After offering Yuzu your assistance, you’ll be teleported to the forest to look for her sheep. Simply walk upward and interact with all three sheep to return them to Yuzu.

When you return, Yuzu will mention that her sheep are hungry and have nowhere to go. Smells like opportunity! Select “Take them to my place” to recruit Yuzu!

With Yuzu in your army, you can now access the Ranch at HQ. With the ranch unlocked, you can now collect livestock such as cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens. If you didn’t pick up the Collar during Hix and Tengaar’s quest, you can go and pick up an extra sheep by re-entering the forest right now.

By collecting livestock, you gain access to more ingredients to use in Hai Yo’s kitchen and the Cook-Off minigame. You can find livestock out in the world, or purchase them from various locations.

How to find the ranch

To find your ranch in Suikoden 2, travel to HQ and enter the first floor where the stone tablet is. Keep walking right through each room until you eventually reach the ranch! If you recruit Tony, you can plant vegetables in the first half, while Yuzu and her livestock are in the second half.
