How to Unlock Caleb in Love and Deepspace

Caleb is the newest character to appear as a love interest in the dating sim Love and Deepspace, but you can’t immediately access his new storyline, add him as a visitor in your hub, or get his new text messages. You need to go through a bit of extra footwork to make him a part of your virtual life again in the game. Fortunately, that doesn’t take too long.

How do I unlock Caleb in Love and Deepspace?

Well, it’s very easy to get Memories right away. Pulling on the Painful Signal, Sky’s Embrace, and always-available Xspace Echo all offer opportunities to get three, four, and five-star Memories for Caleb in Love and Deepspace. Sky’s Embrace lets you even set which five-stars you’d want as the focus, and his are present. There’s also a four-star Intertwined Gold Memory for him in the Chinese New Year Festive Blessing event for free. This means you can start building a Team for him, so long as you have at least one Solar card. 

However, you can’t see Caleb show up in the home screen room or get into what’s happening with him “now” until you advance the campaign. Trying to set him as a character will say you need to go through Homecoming Wings chapter 1, part 3. This is easy to unlock. 

Click the Story button at the bottom of the screen. Tap the menu in the upper right corner of whatever story you are to get to the chapter select area. You want to scroll down to the fourth Homecoming Wings storyline. The first section available is Vanishing Skyward. After a warning about spoilers and getting ahead of events in the story if you haven’t cleared them, you can start this new storyline following Caleb’s return. The message warns if you haven’t completed Under Deepspace’s fourth Under Twilight chapter, you’ll see text messages from him out of order. As long as you’ve gone through all of the tutorials in the game, you can head into this chapter even if you aren’t all the way through the fourth chapter of Under Deepspace.

Once in Homecoming Wings, read through 1-3 of Vanishing Skyward. It’s called “Empathic Interrogation.” These first three chapters are all story-based ones with no combat, so you don’t have to worry about any barriers related to any Teams perhaps not being at a high enough level to clear challenges. After the chapter is over, you’ll get an immediate Love and Deepspace text message notification from Caleb and see his affinity level up in the dating sim.
