How to Unlock the Prinny in Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero

As with all NIS games, the iconic Prinny mascot is present as a playable character in Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero, but we do need to unlock it first. This comes down to a combination of hitting a certain point in the campaign and completing requests.

How do I unlock a Prinny in the Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero character creator?

First, you need to advance the story. The opportunity to get a Prinny in Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero doesn’t arrive until you reach Chapter 10: Howling Eternal Love.

At the start of Chapter 10, head to the Request section of the Facilities menu. One of the newly added ones at the outset of the chapter is called “It’s Prinny, Dood!” It asks you to deliver a “fish” item to unlock the Prinny Class. This means you need one of the fish items you can Confine Phantoms to on aquatic or beach maps. The Skullrock Island “Stormy Seas” map you can replay always has one resting on top of the ship cannons to Marona’s left.

Once you have a fish and turn it in, you’ll immediately unlock the Prinny character type in the Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero Character Creator. This is a Monster class character whose attack will be its highest stat. It arrives knowing the attacks Drill Kick, Prinny Bomb, and Prinny Rush. Try to have a “bone” type item around when you create one, as its Dood Power ability increases its HP and attack stats by 20% in general, but also its defense by 50% when it has a bone equipped as a weapon.

Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is available for the Switch, PS4, and PS5, and eventually the PC.
