Ash was a major playable character in the first Phantom Brave, but he and Marona are quickly separated in the sequel Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero. It might leave you wondering if you’ll ever get a chance to use him and see the two reunite. Well, the answer is yes, but it takes a very long time.
When does Ash become a playable character in Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero?
Editor’s Note: There will be as few spoilers for the game’s story as possible in the article below.
In the introduction, we see Marona and Ash separated. He sends her off to save her from the Shipwreck Fleet, staying behind to buy her time to get to safety. After that, the familiar hero is absent for the first half of the story.
At the end of Chapter 7, Marona and Ash finally reunite. However, while he does join the Argento Pirates at this point, he isn’t playable yet. You’ll be able to see him on Skullrock Island, but he can’t be interacted with or summoned during a fight.
Ash only returns to join the Argenti Pirates at the very end of Chapter 12. During a story cutscene before the battle “Distant Anchorage,” he’ll reappear. When you start the fight, he’ll be a playable Phantom you can confine to an object and summon to join the fight.
Phantom Brave: The Lost Hero is available for the Switch, PS4, and PS5, and eventually the PC.
