The two companies confirmed their continued partnership via a press release on both websites. Bloober Team will work on a new game under Konami. The project will be “a new game based on Konami’s IP,” but the exact game has not been confirmed by the announcement. It seems likely this will be another Silent Hill project, due to Bloober’s reputation as a horror developer.

The critical success of Silent Hill 2 is cited as the reason for Konami signing Bloober Team for a new project. The game’s Metacritic and OpenCritic scores were highlighted, as well as awards from IGN. The game’s commercial success was not mentioned in the announcement, but it did reach 1 million sales within a week of its release in October 2024.

The Silent Hill 2 remake was one of many Silent Hill projects revealed by Konami in 2021. Other projects still in the works include Silent Hill: Townfall, from No Code (Stories Untold, Observation) and Silent Hill f, which will feature writing from Ryukishi07 (When They Cry). Neither game has a confirmed release date yet.

While Bloober Team and Konami have yet to reveal concrete details on their new project, Silent Hill 2 is out now for PS5 and PC.
