The company is also showcasing an unpainted prototype of the crossover toy at the event. It shows how the upcoming toy will feature a fusion between Optimus Prime and Basara’s VF-19 Excalibur Custom “Fire Valkyrie.” The unit will also have a properly scaled guitar with a shoulder strap.

This crossover action figure will appear to celebrate the anniversaries of both Macross 7 and Transformers. When Takara Tomy revealed the Synergenex brand in 2024, Transformers had its 40th anniversary from the first toy line released in 1984. Macross 7 also had its 30th anniversary since the first TV episode aired in 1994.

Basara Prime is not the only crossover unit Takara Tomy revealed at the event. The company also announced a new version of the TransformersMonster Hunter crossover unit Rathalos Prime. Takara Tomy and Capcom previously revealed at TGS 2024 that they would release the original Rathalos Prime action figure worldwide in late July 2025.

The Basara Prime Synergenex crossover action figure will be available in the 2025-2026 Winter season. An unpainted prototype is on display at T-Spark Zone 2025, which is held on the fourth floor of Akiba Cultures Zone until January 19, 2025.
