Marvel Rivals: Every Free Hero Skin and How to Get Them

Skins (AKA Costumes) are fun cosmetics that alter the look of Heroes in Marvel Rivals, and while many require digging into your wallet, there are a handful of free skins out there. If you’re searching for a fresh look without breaking the bank, then you’re in the right place.

All Free Skins (Costumes) In Marvel Rivals

Below is a list of every skin obtainable for free in Marvel Rivals. Many of these skins are tied to limited-time promotions, such as Twitch Drops, while others can be earned at any time by playing the game.

To equip a Costume, select the relevant Hero in the “Heroes” tab, navigate the “Cosmetics” section, and equip the skin you want to use. Easy!

Iron Man: Armor Model 42

To celebrate the launch of Marvel Rivals, the “Armor Model 42” Iron Man skin is free for all players until March 5, 2025. Unlock this sleek look for Iron Man by entering the Bundle Code nwarh4k3xqy in the menu.

To redeem codes in Marvel Rivals, follow these steps:

  • On the main menu, press the Menu button (Xbox), Options button (PS5), or Escape key (PC)
  • Select “Bundle Code” and type in the code.
  • Select “Use” to claim your reward.

Marvel Rivals released the Armor Model 42 across their social media channels, so be sure to follow them for any future free Hero skins or cosmetics.

Storm: Ivory Breeze

Earn 200 Achievement Points in the “Heroic Journey” section of the Achievements tab to earn the “Ivory Breeze” skin for Storm. Heroic Journey Achievements require you to complete various feats as specific heroes, each awarding 5-10 Achievement Points.

To find the Heroic Journey section, select your icon at the top right of the main menu, then select “Achievements.” Remember to click the gift icon to claim your rewards at each milestone!

Star-Lord: Jovial Star

The “Jovial Star” skin for Star-Lord is unlockable by earning 400 Achievement Points in the Heroic Journey tab. In addition to Star-Lord and Storm’s skins, there are a total of 1,100 Units to be gained through various Heroic Journey milestones. These units can be spent in the Stores or Heroes menu to purchase Costumes. While you won’t be able to afford the fanciest skins for free, every hero has at least one recolor available for 600 Units.

Spider-Man: Scarlet Spider

The “Scarlet Spider” costume for Spider-Man is exclusive to PlayStation 5 and can be redeemed for free through the PlayStation Store. Despite the name, this skin is based on Kaine Parker’s black and red costume rather than the Ben Reilly’s traditional hooded suit.

At the time of writing, the Scarlet Spider skin isn’t available to use, redeem, or purchase on Xbox or PC. There doesn’t appear to be an end date for this promotion on PlayStation, but I recommend redeeming it as soon as you can — just in case!

Hela: Will of Galacta

From January 10 – 25, 2025, players can earn the exclusive “Will of Galacta” skin for Helavia Twitch Drops. All you need to do is watch Marvel Rivals streams on Twitch for a total of four hours.

To earn Twitch Drops, you must link your Twitch and Marvel Rivals accounts through the “Connections” section of “My Account” on the Marvel Rivals website.

Once you reach your watch goal, claim your Drop on the Twitch Drop page. After some time, check your in-game mail to add the Will of Galacta Magneto skin to your collection. Alongside the Will of Galacta skin, you’ll also receive a matching Spray and Nameplate.

Peni Parker: VEN#m

Peni Parker’s “VEN#m” (Venom) Skin is free for PlayStation Plus subscribers via the PlayStation Store. In addition to the Costume, “Marvel Rivals – S0 Bundle” includes a VEN#m MVP, Spray, Nameplate, and 300 Chrono Tokens.

Unlike the Scarlet Spider skin, VEN#m Peni and her matching cosmetics are notexclusive to PlayStation. The skin and bundle can both be purchased in-game on all platforms in exchange for Units, though only PlayStation Plus members get these for no extra cost.

Peni: Blue Tarantula

Peni’s “Blue Tarantula” skin is free for all players to earn in Marvel Rivals‘ Darkhold (Season 1) Battle Pass. Blue Tarantula Peni doesn’t require the Luxury (paid) Battle Pass and can be purchased for 400 Chrono tokens on the third page.

Free-to-play players have until Season 0 ends on April 11, 2025, to earn this skin. However, those who purchase the Luxury Chronovium Battle Pass can still earn her after the season ends.

Thor: Reborn from Ragnarok

During Season 1, players can earn Thor’s “Reborn from Ragnarok” skin for free by progressing event missions. To check your progress and next tasks, check the “Event” tab under “Season” in the main menu. There are also various free rewards to earn along the way, including Chrono Tokens, Units, Sprays, Nameplates, and more.

Star-Lord: Lion’s Mane

Beginning January 23, players can earn Star-Lord’s “Lion’s Mane” skin for free through the Spring Festival event. This offer won’t stay around, however, so make sure to participate in the festivities while they’re around for Chinese New Year!

Mystery Captain America: Brave New World Skin

Cinemagoers who see Captain America: Brave New World at a Regal theater during opening Weekend (February 14 – 17) will receive a free Marvel Rivals bundle. This includes a Spray, Nameplate, and a to-be-announced skin. I’m placing my bets on Red Hulk, but we’ll have to wait and see.

A Regal Crown Club account is required, and the ticket must be scanned at the theatre, so make sure you’re prepared ahead of time if this deal appeals to you.

Retired Free Marvel Rivals Skins

Below is a list of all Marvel Rivals skins that were previously offered for free but are now unavailable. Some of these may return in the future, so keep your eyes peeled!

Marvel Rivals is available to play for free on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
