The company shared a post on social media that includes a picture featuring the recognizable silhouette of Hatsune Miku, alongside a Japanese caption that translates to “This person will feature in year’s version of the Shaka Shaka Potato! Y.” The letter “Y” at the end of the post is used to mimic a leak.

The Shaka Shaka Potato are a McDonald’s Japan exclusive menu item that consists of french fries and a packet of seasoning or flavoring. The contents of the pouch are poured on the fries and then shaken to evenly spread it. The name comes from the shaking sound of the fries inside the package.

McDonald’s Japan is announcing collaborations with popular media franchises constantly. Some of the latest crossovers include a Pokemon Frienda and PokePeace collaboration, as well as the latest collaboration with the Evangelion anime series.

A new Hatsune Miku collaboration is coming soon to McDonald’s Japan. More information will appear in the coming days.
